The team working on Preventive Biosecurity (WP2) started field work in September 2022
Two in vitro experiments with different pathogens relevant for Atlantic salmon aquaculture were performed mimicking freshwater and seawater environments. Different filtration mechanisms, extraction methods and automated analyses were tested and a protocol for water sampling and downstream analyses established.
A fish group was selected to apply the selected screening procedure throughout the Atlantic salmon production chain.
